Omg SHOES!!

Today's topic is a fun one, SHOES!! I've had a few requests to show my shoe collection, or at least some of my favorite pairs and/or designers, so I decided to dedicate today's post to doing just that.

Obviously I'm a dirty little whore for Christian Louboutin. Recently, my girl Jennifer and I had quite the field day in the Robertson Boutique. For those of you that haven't seen Jennifer's Closet Tour, it is a MUST SEE, her Louboutin collection is amazing.

Ok, back to our fun day at Louboutin

They had just received a shipment of new styles in, so Jenn and I left work to check it out! We had each intended on grabbing a pair, but there were SO many cute ones, we couldn't decide.

Jennifer Stano's beautiful feet.

I ended up leaving with 3 pairs and she ended up with 4 (oops). I don't usually buy this many at once, this was definitely out of the norm for me, but it was my birthday, so someone very special treated me.

My trunk was exploding with Louboutins!!!
We were like two little girls in a candy store, only with a lot of shoes instead of candy! Now on to shoe doctor, yes I said shoe doctor. As I stated in my last post, I am largely so skinny because I have the World's smallest bones; well, my feet are no exception. They're so fucking skinny that I even have to take my SHOES to alterations. Thankfully, only 2 out of the 3 needed surgery.

I go to the BEST shoe alteration/repair place in Beverly Hills, it's called "Progressive." They make everything fit so fabulously, and they also alter/change the design of shoes for me (I love to change everything, it's the designer in me). These two particular pairs didn't need much work, I just had to tighten the straps on the nude to fit my skinny foot, and then double layer the bottom of the orange/red ones so that my foot would fit to the top of the shoe.

Imagine how much work my CLOTHES go through before they fit...lol

Other than Louboutin, I love a good pair of Jimmy Choo's. They make really beautiful shoes with the most extreme craftsmanship. The only downfall is I find them to be very uncomfortable, but maybe that's due to the crazy ass styles I buy!

Here are the most recent Jimmy Choo's I purchased:

In all honestly, I haven't gotten my money's worth out of either. Unless you have unlimited income (which I don't), I'd stick to more classic looks. Outrageous styles such as these two are fantastic and exciting at first glance, but in every day wear they are difficult to tie into an outfit since they are the outfit.

Other than Louboutin and Jimmy Choo, I love YSL because they are SO comfortable, and I love Fendi as well because they make super tall shoes (which I love!!).

Here are some photos of me rocking my 3 purchases from Louboutin that day, as you can see, I've gotten great use out the nude

    1. Louboutin's are NOT the most comfortable lol, but they are worth the pain. In all honesty they are WAY too overpriced. Once you enter the working world, you'll understand why your parent's feel that way. I bought my first pair of Loubs with my first paycheck working as a summer associate at a law firm. Once you begin to make your own money, you'll be able to decide for yourself what your hard earned money is worth. My opinion, every girl deserves a pair of Loubs :) It's nice to have nice things, and even though they are no better than any other brand, they do make you feel special. So study hard, work hard, save up, and splurge one day on a pair. As for buying online, I wouldn't recommend it unless you have seen/tried on the shoe before. Shoes are all about fit, you should try it on and walk around the store a bit. Don't worry, you're so young, shoes will always be here, even better ones. One day you'll get there :) I hope this helps!

    2. Ah you're so sweet and helpful, I discovered your blog recently through Jennifer Stano and I must say, you're a real example to young girls! Not only a beauty, but you also got the brains. Whenever I have a hard time studying I think of pay offs.

  2. Those shoes are SOOO cute! I bought my first pair of Loubs for my older sisters wedding and I love them! Do you have any close up pictures of you wearing them? What is your second favorite brand?

    1. Thanks, Allison!! I don't really have any close ups, I only snap cell phone photos lol. As for my second favorite brand, definitely Jimmy Choo. YSL and Fendi tie for third.

  3. Lilly,

I have a quick question, I have really small feet as well and a super skinny heel. I put two pairs of heel grips in my shoes and insoles in the front, but my heels still slip out. I buy my shoes as tight as possible so they aren't too big but my heel still comes out. Is the shoe repair place able to pad up the back of the shoe to prevent heel slippage? I have all these great shoes I can't wear because my heel flies out!

    Thanks love!

    1. Hi, yes this is exactly what I do to my shoes for the exact same reason. They will lift the top of the shoe out, they will then place all of that pudding on the shoe, and then put the top layer of the shoe back on. This way, you don't see the padding, the shoe looks just as when you bought it, and the padding doesn't slip out since it's underneath. Also, sometimes my shoe guy puts little string in the back of the shoe horizontally, this keeps my heel from slipping out. Take it to any shoe repair, they will make them fit perfect!

    2. I have the same problem and have been trying to fix the heel slipping out for years. I just stopped buying pumps now only heels with a strap. But THANK YOU so much for giving me an option to try. I will try to find a shoe repair in my location and ask about the string in the back and padding. I hope this works, thanks again.

  4. Wawwww amazing!!!! Fashionista I adore your style .. I have a question I am 5"2 what do you think it fits more the wedges or the pumps??? And what's your favrt cream for strech marks

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Awww thanks! Wedges are great for the day time because they are super easy to walk in, pumps for the evening! As for stretch marks, I don't use any creams for mine. I used coco butter when I was young, but I don't think it did anything.

  5. So happy you are blogging now!! :) Question: what is the style name of the black Louboutins in the picture where you're wearing neon polish? They are gorgeous!!

    1. Thank you! I'll see if I can find the box to get the name. They should still have them, I bought them less than 2 months ago.

    2. They look like the Highness but maybe you added the strap across?

      Delete
    3. I didn't add the strap, they came that way, they were actually the one pair I didn't need to alter at all. Still looking for the box!!

  6. The white dress you're wearing with your blue Hermes Birkin, where is it from? Did you alter it as well?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The white dress is D&G, and yes I did alter it. I alter almost all of my clothes. I shortened it and made it tighter.

    1. Thank you, Sarah :) I've worked really hard in my life. The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary. My parent's are incredible, amazing, and do help as well. Just follow your dreams and stay focused and you'll get there too :)

  9. Love love LOOOVE your sense of style. Whenever you're done with your shoes ship them over! haha I too have a super small and skinny foot so anything that doesn't have straps is usually too big. I feel like my feet shrunk in the last few years... anyway, I wanted to get some designer shoes for my wedding but I know Loubs and Choos aren't that comfy for all day wear. Any recommendations? Thanks! -xoxo-

    1. Congrats on getting married!!! And, thank you so much for your sweet words <3 YSL are the most comfortable brand in my opinion, but they don't make shoes that are very dainty and wedding like :(. Loubs are a great option because they make sparkly ones, but they're super expensive, I'm not sure it's worth it since your dress will likely cover them all night! Giuseppe also makes very dainty, sparkly shoes, but again, not comfy. Hmmm, this is a tough one!

    2. Thank you!!! Ugh I know girl, I know most desginer shoes aren't that comfy. I might check out Valentino, he has some gorgeous ones but again, not super comfy. I suppose I can suffer to look good on my wedding day! :P

  11. Love your blog Lilly! I know you are little and a big 'heels' girl. (The bigger the heel, the closer to God!) BUT, do you ever wear flats? Any recommendations on stylish flats for running errands or the office? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. If I'm being a bum, I usually wear sweats with Ugg Boots, but I guess that isn't very office appropriate! Well, in my office it is :) As for good brands, Chanel flats are super cute, and Prada makes really cute ones also!

  12. Hi Lilly, so I've been looking for months to find the best FIRST pair of Louboutins ever! I feel like I'm mature enough to have such an expensive and exquisite shoe. What do you recommend for me to lose my Louboutin virginity? I'm like you, I take my time and buy only pieces I'll get my monies worth. I don't fall into stupid trends that will last one season and oops, its over. I like timeless pieces, grown and sexy. Oh and p.s. totally love y'all spread in the magazine! GORGEOUS women! Xo

    1. Hi Reisse, I would go with the lady peep in either nude or black. I have worn the SHIT out of mine, especially the nude. It's a super high shoe, classic feminine look, and they style timeless. And, thank you!!! The spread is super cute :)

    2. Thanks girl. I would go w/ nude too because it goes w/ everything. And for some reason I've been sticking to nude. Like I buy everything in nude. I need to stop after this pair ha ha ha ha. Have a good day gorgeous

    1. Thank you :) It's actually a top, I just bought a big size so I could wear it as an off the shoulder dress. It was still a bit short, so I wore a slip under it. It's from Max Azria!

    2. BCBG or just Max Azria?? I need it! lol I also really like your black top and shorts!
Everything looks great on you! You should start posting where your clothes is from please:)

    3. BCBG!! And, for sure I will :) The black shirt is Vince, and I'm not sure what the shorts are because they cut the tags off tailoring it! I bought the shorts from Intermix and shirt from Saks.

  16. Hi Lilly,

I love your blog! Love how honest you are!

I have a quick question: you obviously love designer and luxury goods. Was it a lifestyle that you grew up with, or was it something that you achieved for yourself after you found success in California?

    Thanks for sharing! :)

    1. Hi Sydney, thank you :). It was a little of both. I wasn't super rich growing up, but I was very fortunate and always had nice things. I only went super couture as an adult :)

    1. GZ makes beautiful shoes, but I love SUPER HIGH heels, and he used to cut it off at 4.5-5 inches. I own one pair of his wedges, that's about it. I LOVED him when I was younger, before the days of Louboutin. Now that I have sky high Loubs, I haven't bought any new GZ.
